Extractor fan has died

The extractor fan in our bathroom, which comes on with the light and switches off after the light has been switched off for a while, has died. Lights were tripped when it died but these have been fixed by another electrician, who did not fix the extractor fan - claims he can't do it?!
So we just need someone to make the extractor fan work again.
