fit inset gas fire into existing fireplace

I have a valor anthem multiflue gas fire, still in box, bought years ago and a perfect sized hole in a marble fireplace but the existing gas pipe (in the right place but wrong position) needs moving a bit. Been told these fires aren't worth the trouble but it is more for decoration than heat output.
