Mathew & Sons were hired for repointing work, clean gutters and drainpipes and to fit chimney caps. They came with wrong size chimney caps then tried to persuade me not to bother capping them. It has since come to my attention that the repointing work is still NOT finished. Further, I now see that the drainpipe is still slightly leaking which he says he threw in a clip (costing a mere £2-£4) to fix the problem as it was bowing and not properly aligned. On contacting him his response was, we didn’t quote you for all that work, and all he says he is prepared to refund is £40 out of the money paid. He also keeps asking me to remove the review left as its ruining his reputation and to date I have not received the £40.

Please inspect and then repair or replace using UPVC and waterproof materials, use cement if necessary. Do everything necessary to self-contain the gully and prevent further water damage to the kitchen wall. Also, fit cover to stop anything accidentally falling in and blocking it. Ideal start date: As soon as possible after agreement of quote.
