Hi, I have a single socket (protruding, not inside a wall) that needs to be replaced with a double one for use with tumble drier and washing machine. the cable runs on the wall, not inside the wall. Secondly, I have an outdoor porch light which I want to replace with a new one that I bought. Please let me know if you can do these jobs.

Jason did the job as agreed for a fair price. It was a bit difficult to arrange a date as he cancelled a number of times (probably because bigger jobs overrun). If I was working at the time and took time off work I would not be happy, but I'm on maternity leave. He did the job well.

We have a new machine in the office that requires a new socket. We have a suspended ceiling so access to the current electrical system will be via this, we need someone to run the electrical cable from an existing socket to the new point and fit a socket to the wall there. The wires are required to be hidden but the office structure will allow this without a channel into the wall.

RCD tripping randomly.

The RCD has recently started to trip randomly. Can stay on for a several hours and doesn’t trip. Then could trip several times in space of 30mins. Have unplugged appliances, tried different sockets but still trips(not immediately).

C2 Issues Need To Change Consumer Unit & Update EICR

EICR Report notes the following issues. C2 - No RCD protection for socket-outlets for internal use BS7671 C2 - All lighting circuits need additional RCD protection C2 - Cooker needs RCD protection C3 - Consumer unit does not comply with current BS7671 standards C3 - Basic insulation is visible outside fuse board C3 - Socket is not working in kitchen C3 - Water heater is not RCD protected In summary most of these will be solved by an updated consumer unit, and I will be needing either a new EICR or a "minor works report" to put with the original. See attached photos of the consumer unit and of the EICR report (highlighted issues in yellow).
