I have several drilling jobs around the house, which are slightly beyond my own DIY skill to accomplish. 1) Drill 4 holes in HARD bathroom tiles in order to mount a cabinet. 2) Drill 4 holes in HARD batrhroom tiles in order to mount a towel rail. 3) Drill 6 holes in living room wall in order to mount a TV wall bracket. 4) Drill 2 holes in front door in order to mount a doorbell (this one should be easy, but I may as well utilise the professional handyman when he's here!) I tried myself to drill into the bathroom tiles, but despite having bought carbide-tipped bits, they just were not going through. I therefore decided to enlist professional help. Anyone who's interested - please would you give me your quote in the first contact - instead of simply saying "Hi, I can do this job, contact me for the price". Thank you.

SLbF arranged for someone to come to my flat for 2.30pm. They had still not arrived 45mins later, so I called the company to be told that they had been unable to contact that workman all day! They phoned me back to say he was at least another 50mins away. I had an appointment so rearranged to the next morning at 10am. I got a phone call at 9.30am (this time at least I had that) to tell me that they were unable to come. No explanation. Terrible communication, and more than just a one off blip.

I live in a third-floor flat. My cooker extractor vents to the outside: however the external cover is broken and birds are coming in to nest. I want to affix a wire grille over the opening onto the outside wall: this will involve drilling four holes in the masonry, inserting rawlplugs and then acrewing in the grille. It's an easy job which I would do myself - however the only problem is that the external wall is about 8 metres from the ground, and I do not have a ladder that long. If you have a long (triple) ladder and a van to carry it; you're not afraid of heights; and you fancy some easy money for a job which will take less than half an hour then let me know!
