Safely knock down walls on internal cupboard & brick doorway

I have a brick build cupboard in my kitchen. I would like the two cupboard walls knocked down. The doorway for the cupboard removed (this is in the living room) and bricked up. I am happy to undertake any plastering and decorating work myself.
Although I don't think so, I am not sure if the cupboard is weight baring.
