i want to cover a wall painted black, best way to get it back to white please
When painting over a dark walls with light colors i suggested always to use a white primer
3 coats of white should do it, I would have suggested a white or grey undercoat before if the top colour was different. There is also zinnzer undercoat but expensive, But as its white 3 coats will be enough to cover the black. 1 under coat zinner stain block, 2 coats white

I would use a white primer first
Put cream coat of emulsion on first then use white.
Grey 2 coats them white 2 coats
Hi. Just do not use any cheap paint and everything will be alright.
Always use a dulux trade white as a base coat first
First use white undercoat and don't be shy with it once dry go over with white emulsion Matt, the Matt cover any indescrepencies on your wall like humps and bumps. Hope this helps
Give adding coats until the Black stops coming through or you could fix Lining Wall paper and paint
3 coats of white emulsion
Best way....
Either stain block the whole area to which may be costly.
Alternatively use a lighter paint i.e magnolia, to paint over the black, and then a few good coats of a good quality white emulsion paint.
This worked for me when I was faced with a navy blue painted wall.
One or two coats of primer before the white paint.
2 coats of shellac primer
