I had the downstairs of my house re plastered last March, we noticed a couple of small areas where the plaster had blown initially but we had those fixed by a decorator and had it all painted once it had dried. The last few months I’ve noticed cracks appearing on every wall we had plastered, they have all started as hair line cracks which gradually get worse to the point we have patches cracking and pretty much falling off.
Does anyone have any suggestions what could be causing this please? I’m unsure if I should contact the plasterer as it’s almost a year later. Many thanks in advance
I think they forgot to apply PVA.on the wals before plaster and it's not sticking on the walls.
You need to clean all the walls and replaster them
Thanks.
it is necessary to check whether the wall is wet or damp and where the cracks appear. then the whole wall should be scraped as much as possible with a special base and then re-plastered. to smear
As long as he pva everything thing and taped up any old cracks before plastering it's probably nothing to do with he's work could be the building especially if its a old building only way to make sure it don't happen would be too board it all then reskim it
Hi, yes, you should call the plasterer who have made the job as is unacceptable that after only 1 year the plaster is falling down. That can happen if the wall that needed to be plastered hasn't been sealed properly before plaster.
