waste trap for thick stone sink?

Hi! I have bought a double stone sink which is thicker than your norm. My plumber is struggling to find a waste trap for it as none of the screws that come with them are long enough.... Stone sinks are in vogue. I can't be the only with this problem. Any idea how others overcome this problem please?
