Quarter-turn mixer tap

How do I replace the cartridge in a quarter-turn kitchen mixer tap where I can remove only the "lever" and the end fitting which is held in place by the adjustment lever. There are no removable caps or grub screws.

It sounds like you have a handle-less or 'hidden' fixing design, which is common in modern mixer taps. In these cases, the entire decorative shroud or the handle body itself usually unscrews counter-clockwise to reveal the cartridge underneath. At Plumbers Glasgow Ltd, we often find that these can become seized due to limescale, so it's important to use a soft-grip tool to avoid scratching the finish.

If the shroud is tight or you’re worried about damaging the pipework under the sink while applying pressure, we would be happy to help. We provide 24/7 support across Glasgow and can usually have a specialist at your door within 30 minutes to get your kitchen back in working order quickly and safely.
