Hi, I can help with this. It sounds like the thermostatic shower valve may need adjusting or recalibrating, although the cartridge could also be the issue. If you can send me a photo of the shower valve and controls, I can identify the type and advise on the correct adjustment. I’d be happy to take a look and get the temperature working correctly.
adjust or reset the temperature limit stop (the plastic gear or ring hidden behind the handle) or deal with a stuck cartridge
Hi, this sounds like the thermostatic shower valve may need adjusting or servicing. The temperature control/anti-scald stop may be incorrectly set, or the thermostatic cartridge could be faulty or scaled up. I’d recommend checking the valve and resetting the maximum temperature rather than simply turning up/down the control. If you’re unsure which valve or adjustment you have, send me a photo of the shower valve and I can advise you further. Please be careful as excessively hot water can cause scalding.
The valve in the mixer is faulty will need new shower mixer
If you cannot regulate temperature then the thermostatic cartridge will need replacing on a bar mixer shower.
If its an electric shower then id be looking at replacing the unit.
Sounds as if need to repkace thermostatic mixer valve
Hi, it sounds as though the thermostat cartridge inside the tap may be set too high, faulty, or in need of adjustment. I would recommend contacting a qualified plumber to inspect it, as the tap may need to be partially dismantled to diagnose the issue correctly. Attempting repairs yourself could result in further damage or leaks. Depending on the condition of the cartridge and internal components, the tap may simply require adjustment, replacement parts, or in some cases a complete replacement.
Happy to take a look and provide a quote if needed, All the best.
Many thermostatic shower valves have a safety stop that limits the maximum temperature.
You can Remove the temperature control handle (usually secured by a small screw or cap)
Thermo cartridge has failed if it’s a mixer shower.
Try replacing that for a quick and easy test.
Cartridge is faulty
