What does a typical house rewire involve?

Could someone tell me about what a typical house rewire involves. How long does it take? What is the average cost per room (for London)? How much disruption does it cause?

A full rewire causes a fair bit of disruption. Walls need to be chased/ channelled out for cables to be hidden in the wall which can become messy. Floorboards need to be removed to route cables etc. A Full rewire can take between 3-7 days depending on the size of the house/flat. Redecoration will need to be considered! Hard to give a cost per room. The last occupied 3 bedroom we completed cost around £3500 with all fixtures and fittings included.
Hope this helps

Distruptions vary depending on the layout of the rooms, and dependent upon what's involed in getting the wires from one place to another. It is prudent to get a qualified electrican to come and look at the whole house, and whats needed to be done and then submit an estimate.
