The paint on our bathroom ceiling in coming off. Which type of paint is best to use for bathrooms?
It would seem humidity would have been the problem with peeling paint from your ceiling. you may see a collection of properties that is labelled under bathroom paint suitable for bathrooms. but they don't really exist as it is simply paint with a collection of properties, such as egg shell that is slightly sheeny and more washable in a bathroom. and gloss looks awful over a large surfaces Phenyl mercuric acetate (PMA) THIS WAS ADDED TO PAINT BY THE MANAFACTURES before September 1991 and as the name indicates it contains mercury that is very hazardous to humans. so I would look for a Premium paint that tackle moisture so try Benjamin Moore's paint or Zinsser's perm white paint.

in areas of steam or condensation best to use silk, eggshell or recommended bathroom and kitchen paint this can be found in any diy store
I would recommend Dulux bathroom paint - 2 and a half litres
I would say don't buy cheap paint but I think Dulux 2.5l bathroom soft sheen emulsion pure brilliant White is a good paint for the ceiling and walls or the walls it depends on what colour you want. I hope this helped
should be well prepared before painting the ceiling and use a paint designed for painting the bathroom I recommend paint company crown .If the bathroom does not have a ventilation problem could be moisture. Regards PNZ
Paint for bathrooms is labelled as "bathroom" or "kitchen and bathroom" paint. It can better handle the damp environment and contains a mould inhibitor. However, I would also recommend you check that the room is sufficiently ventilated by a fan and that it is not blocked as poor ventilation may cause paint to peel. Also a fan that continues to run after you have finished in the bathroom is useful to clear out residual steam - having it come on with the light is a help too. If it is not possible to fit a fan then revert to the old fashioned way of keeping a window open. Also remove all loose paint before painting and if the plaster is then exposed, dilute the first coat. As with all painting, keep the room well ventilated while painting and while it is drying - even low odour paints have some odour and you or others may be sensitive.
Hi always use good Quality bath room paint , I prefer Dulux .
Water based eggshell. The so called bathroom paints are just a rip off.
There are paints by dulux that are specified for bathroom areas, however you may find you need to remove all loose paint first, sealing the ceiling with zinsser primer then paint ceiling again with bathroom paint. (Make sure room has adequate ventilation when bath/shower is running .
Egg shell paint is the best for bathrooms and kitchens.
