Building regulation approval for chimney breast removal?

Is building regs approval required before removing a chimney breast from the 1st floor of a semi-detached house? Your help is appreciated :-)

A structural enginers report will be required as well as building regs approval .you will properly need a party wall agreement as well

Building regs always depend on the council for that area , all councils are different and have there own set rules/regs basics are the same but it really can vary . Contact your local council before any major works are undertaken hope this helps

Yes you will need building reg. You will also need a structural engineer if you havnt removed the chimney from the roof down as a steel will be required.
