light switches now ok in bathroom?
Am I right in think that the rules regarding light switches have changed. Are they now permitted?

Hi. If it is more than 0.6 of a metre from the end of the bath or shower, it is permitted.

the regulation of the bath room the switch and the light must be in Zone 3 or 2.5 meters high

They should be controlled by a ceiling mounted pull-cord switch, where the cord is made of insulating material, or a wall switch, which must be mounted a set distance away from the areas considered special zones within a bathroom.

It dependes on how far the light switches are in reference to the bath, sink and shower. All switches must be outside zone 1 & 2 according to regulations, preferbly outside bathroom / shower room, or in cealing with pull cord.

Light switches are only permitted outside the bathroom and not in the bathroom, as someone in the bathroom with moist or wet hands can be exposed to the risk of an electric shock. Only pull cord switches are allowed in the bathroom. The bathroom circuits must also be RCD protected.
