Who arranges skip?

My landscaper/gardener is due to start in a week and I’ve asked if the skip used will need a permit. After a little investigation it appears I do need it and the company must have £10m public liability minimum. The guy has suggested I phone local companies to see who can provide as his liability is £5m. I then asked if the skip was part of the cost as I had believed it was. He said yes it is. But I feel he should be arranging this and not me. And I am not comfortable arranging a skip in my name (he hasn’t specifically mentioned this but wouldn’t surprise me now) when it would be him paying for it. Presumably they would want money up front anyway. I’m sensing a red flag. Can someone please provide some perspective for me...

Definitely him. It's up to him to price it in to the job.

Good afternoon
I am always discussing this beforehand with client and usually owner is arranging the skip and the skip company never asked for public liability of labourer.
Chose smaller local companies.
If need help please. Do. Not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you

you usually pay for a skip on collection, although if it's included in the price ask your tradesman to arrange it

The customer hires out a skip but this all depends on how much waste removal there is and what rubbish is the skip used for.

However, if customer wanted myself to arrange skip hire then I would do so and invoice them the cost of it.

Normally we can take waste away ourselves & dispose of it at a waste transfer station but for some larger gardening jobs we have used skips. If we ever need skips, we will arrange this all for you using a skip hire company we can trust. We will always tell the customer when we plan to hire a skip to ensure there is enough space & that it won't be in the way. If a skip needs to go on the public highway a permit is required & our preferred skip hire company will arrange this all for us
