Is it generally cheaper to wallpaper or paint a room? I'm thinking about the cost of labour rather than the materials.

Painting is more cheaper and faster
It all depends on the materials, condition of the walls and the area size .For example a hall, stairs and landing would be cheaper in materials to paint than it would paper as you would have the drop in a stairwell etc.
Both paint or Wall covering are roughly the same cost in labour, ranging anywhere from £55 per room.
Painting, it costs much less.
Painting a room is cheaper regarding labour costs as there more expertise needed in wallpapering
Generally speaking, it is cheaper to paint a room as wallpapering is more labour intensive.
Its cheaper to paint but a qualified decorator will paint a room in a day and there are painters who work on a day rate any where between 80 and 100 depending on exp
It's always cheaper to paint a room . Wallpapering is time consuming and is very skilled work so expect to pay 50% more for a full room to be wallpapered
Depending off walls condition.
If the walls are poor condition better and cheaper put wallpaper on walls
painting is certainly cheaper unless the walls are cracked this wallpaper will be a better option for painting white or in color as the finish. Regards PNZ

Hi, that depends on what state the walls are like to be honest, plus some traders prefer to paint others paper and for around the same price normally.
It is cheaper to just paint.
As the cost of materials is not the deciding factor, then I'd personally say that painting is much quicker so would work out cheaper in relation to labour.
