I am guessing that I should expect to pay more to paint a ceiling that a wall? Could you give me a rough quote for painting a lounge ceiling about 4m x 5m (central London flat). The condition of the ceilling is reasonable I would say.
Marginally, each company is differernt. Its no different to expecting to pay a slightly small amount more per m2 to plaster a ceiling due to the process being slightly more labour intensive and a little bit slower than working ob walls. We do not overly focus on the decorating side of the trade as we have a good relationship with a painter & decorator we highly recommend to our customers. Reasonable condition could mean there are still a few different things that could cause longer painting time due to the prep work before hand.
One coat of emulsion 40 two coats 80 if the room is empty and if you will paint the walls as well
If the room is furnished and walls stay as it is 160
I wouldn't charge any extra to paint a ceiling than I would to paint a wall of the same size.
It is difficult to quote you for the work required as I would need to view the job and make my decision based upon any light/considerable prep work that might need to be done.
