Correct paint for doors?
Could you tell me which type of paint you generally recommend for wooden doors to be painted white (gloss?, satin-wood?, other). Do you always paint skirting with same? Thank you!

The best paint for wood is Satin wood or eggshell but depinde of client if preferred gloss.

Hi there there is lots of options to paint your wood I would recommend Dulux gloss and depending on what you like you can get high sheen gloss which is shiny satin which is a bit dimmer or egg shell which has no shine but before you put any gloss on I would recommend you put a undercoat on first which will give you a better finish and yes use the same paint on your skirting boards

If you are painting wood you need to make sure that there are knotted, unde coated, etc. before top coats. You can then use Gloss, Satin, etc. of your choice and no skirting boards do not need to be done in same as its a customers personal choice what they want but most common is Gloss

It is all down to preference and if you are susceptible to dirty little hands or pets.
I've used eggshell and satin throughout the years as I was of the opinion that gloss looked old fashioned.
But I'm now converted to gloss in and around my house for two reasons. If prepared correctly then the overall finish of gloss on my doors skirting and architraves looks so clean and fresh. Gloss is also by far easier to maintain and harder wearing as I have two dogs.
In addition I would personally keep all woodwork the same i.e all gloss, all satin or all eggshell.

No i would recommend to sand the wood work down to get a key mark in the wood after use leyland undercoat then leyland gloss always worked for me supper finish

Doors take a lot of use and abuse, so when painting them, choose a durable finish that has a semigloss or gloss sheen. Semigloss or gloss makes cleaning easier and holds up to frequent cleaning. You need to lay down at least two topcoats to get a uniform appearance.

We would recommend rubbing down the doors and applying gloss, there is also a primer then gloss.

Type of paint normally is up to client, depending on preference, we normally use dulux oil base satinwood. Normally in the house all wood work going same paint.

On new wood I would prime 2 coats, undercoat and then gloss lightly sanding between coats.
My preference is dulux paints or high gloss for mirror finish but there are satinwood paints, water based,solvent based and oil based.
Water based is not for me but again personal preference.
I like dulux none drip rather than liquid gloss.
Again all good for doors/skirts and architraves also gloss as more durability and easy clean.

For internal doors you can use what you like (gloos -satinwood- eggshell) depends how you want to be the finish, yes i will paint the skirting with same paint

I would suggest matching your door architraves with your skirting. Also it depends on the style of house and decor tiu have. Mine are staines wood as it matches the feel and look of my house. A more modern looking house with less wood I would suggest gloss. Your preference.

Hi either gloss or satin wood will both be fine to use on your doors, gloss has a high sheen level and satin has a crisp white finish with a low sheen level.(personal like satinwood looks more Classie)
when prepping always rub down the wood work with sand paper this will remove the sheen and lightly put small scratched onto the substrate for so the paint will adhere, don't forget your under coat. If you need more info just look for me on myworkman SRC Painting and Decorating

Hi i would normally use satinwood as this is longer lasting than gloss and looks much nicer i would paint doors and skirting all the same

I always use gloss as it hard wearing satin is not you can't wood it down and after a while it pills off johstons do a good gloss

If it’s a new wood door it will need a primer sanding and then if your using gloss a coat of undercoat then a coat of gloss if using satin or eggshells then just 2 coats of that as it’s self undercoating
