Stained Paint

Our window sills have yellow marks on them under items we leave on the shelf, how can we get rid of these stains? Also can you touch up gloss paint without having to repaint the whole thing?

the first time the wood carvings should be degreased. We use wood-specific material to cover all the holes, then sanding to have a nice surfece. Apply the first paint base and then the final paint.

I would suggest to sand it back so the stain is removed then re-stain or gloss the surface again. It should come up good as new.

If the yellow marks cannot be removed by the use of cleaning products then an application of stain block needs to be applied before applying a coat of gloss.
In regards to touching up gloss... Depending on how long the initial gloss has been on the windowsill/shelf.
Personally I would prep the whole area to be glossed by using sandpaper with the relevant grit/sandpaper grade. Then stain block the yellow marks before applying a nice coat of gloss for an overall and even finish.

Turps is a good solution, generally gloss needs to be stripped back and repainted for the ultimate finish

No you can't touch up gloss, the yellow marks are the speeding up if the aging process of the gloss, try keep things off the window cills that are warm etc

For best result, first you have to use undercoat and then gloss.

Touch up the stains with oil based under coat or re under coat the full sill the re paint in your finishing paint. And would be better to repaint the gloss rather then touch it up

Hg mould spray might remove these yellow stains however it might discolour the paint,
Have you tried a strong degreaser with a green scouring pad to dissolve the stain
As for touching up gloss paint on marks, genearally if you want a uniform finish on the shelves
then you would need to redo it all again, unless your not fussy that it is a uniform finish.
Not recommend unless possibly it was a rental property for example!
