Recently moved into an older property and it turns out the neighbour has access to turn my water supply off. He has access to the stairwell stopcock in his property along with his own individual property stopcock.
Is it wise to have the common stairwell stopcock removed and leave us with just individual stopcocks? if so, how much roughly would it cost to remove it and how long would it take?
I assume he has easy access to both since he has switched it off before!
Hi it's not a big job removing stop cock £60
Hi there. Definitely advisable to remove and install updated stop cocks for each property.... I would recommend SURE STOP product. Easy to use and no turning using the hand. So in a emergency situation when most people panic when theres a leak. SURE STOP allows you to turn off water like you would turn off a light switch.
Cost £540 for two sure stops
You should never remove an internal stop cock unless replacing with new or relocating within your home. When updating new water appliances you should also install new isolation valves if not already fitted to your pipe work.
Not a problem £70 all in give me a helping hand good feed back
