Damp/dark looking discoloration on bathroom floor tiles

I have noticed patchy dark/damp looking discoloration on bathroom floor tiles directly outside shower cubicle. The tiles aren’t new but recently had a new shower cubicle installed. The marks aren’t on the top of the shower, look like coming from the underneath of that makes sense. I suspect this is due to water leaking. I can’t think what else could make those marks. Could this be the case?

Sounds like damp getting into the tiles from the base of shower. Is the grout to the floor tiling cracked or discoloured? Sure sign of moisture movement. I would investigate further, check the plumbing and condition of the shower cubicle floor fixings, even the effectiveness of the shower door/curtain, etc. Needs remedy ASAP.

yes more likely you have a leak especially if the tiles wasn't darken before you had the new shower installed

Normally in this case its rather a sealant issue or you may have a hairline crack in the shower basin itself. Or maybe there's a leak in the waste water pipe.

1st thing, remove the shower panel attached to the shower tray, and have a look underneath to check if it's all dry under there.
