Faulty cooker or electrics?

My cooker is not working and I don?t know if it is the cooker or the electrics. When switching the cooker on at the wall switch the red light comes on but it is not as bright as before. However when turning the dials to put the hobs cooker or grill on the light is going off. I have tried switching the cooker switch off at the electric box and turning it back on but I don?t know what else to do to establish if I need a new cooker or an electrician to look at the switch.

As long as the red light comes on at the wall switch you definitely still have power there so no problem you will need to check the cooker or even how the cooker was installed.

You will definitely need an electrician to investigate your cooker, as it can be anything from a faulty cooker switch to an under-rated circuit or a faulty cooker. I would suggest you get it checked immediately.

The circuit would need to be checked but I would say from your description it sounds like the cooker. It could possibly be an element

I think checking the switch first, a quick test on switch will establish fault

You need to hire an electrician to investigate this. For me it's most likely that electrics is failing. The neutral line to your cooker must have lost continuity
