Skimming over plaster - one coat?
Hello all,
I have just removed the old paint off the living room walls and gone back to the plaster. The plaster is fine, but has lost of digs and scratches on it from me getting then old paint off, which I know will be so obvious to see when painted, so I was going to skim it. As I am going over a good wall already, will I get away with one coat?
I'd appreciate your advice here guys.
Thanks.
option 1 yes skim it with one good coat
or hang 17oo gage lining paper
No mate two coat are all way best in any issue as you need to pva them first first coat cover Mark's and scratches second coat a perfect finish
Hi
You would still need the skills to be able to plaster what ever plaster you use.It takes a lot off skill to get it right..
One coat plaster is rubbish to be honest..
Gyproc plasters are the best and widely available
Regards
That will depend on your skill set for a DIY plasterer I would recommend using easifill as easily sanded if goes wrong
Hello, you are always better of 2 coating everything
