Chrome bathroom radiator valves

I have a chrome upright radiator. When I put my water on with out central heating my bathroom radiator heats up. I need to turn off the radiator but to me not obvious how to. It has 2 chrome valves at each side. Which one do I turn. Maybe I am not able to control the heat. Have tried to turn them, very stuck. Can you advise.

Is it the only 1 radiator that's heats up are the rest turned on or off if they are all turned off at the valves it could be your diverter valve in the boiler that switches between hot water and heating could be stuck is it newly installed or old sounds old if the valves are stuck it sounds like it could be plumbed in to the hot water strange though do the valves look identical If so you should be able to turn any of them might just be tight if you turn one or both off and your hot water stopes working to a tap you know it's plumbed in wrong if not post a job up and someone can fix this on here for you and make sure they are gas safe if they open your boiler you couls also try feeling the hot pipes and seeing where they go to good luck with your radiator

Hello
You could turn off either valves or both valves together to stop water circulating in the rad. If radiator is hot it takes time to cool off after closing the valves.
Good luck

Hello
facing radiator left valve ( might have rubber cap) is cut off valve which used to cut water supply off( off clock wise). The one on your right must have turn thermostatic handle where you control your temperature handle and this is the one you should be using it to control heat
