Is lighting fire in redundant back boiler safe?

I've got an old back boiler solid fuel but it is redundant now for many years but I still light the fire is this safe done it for 7 or more years.

No the back boiler needs removing and all the chamber and chimney flues need checking for leaks by using a smoke bomb pellet and possibly fitting a new style flue liner down the chimney
