Cracked Tiles
I have some tiles (1 horizontal row) in my kitchen around the sink area. 7 of them cracked due to vibrations from the washing machine (below). I have attached the tiles to the wall but am wary of using grout in between the tiles as I a worried that they will crack again. What would you recommend that is waterproof/ water resistant and allows for some movement?

Ball single part fast flex adhesive should do the trick, you can use silicone instead of grout.

In this instance I'd replace the tiles and refix them using flexible adhesive and grout then finish it with a silicone bead. If this didn't work due to the heavy vision of the washer I'd be tempted to use silicone in the grout joint but that would be extreme

There must be movement in your worktop for vibration to affect the tiles. Try securing the worktop more also maybe adjusting the feet on the washing machine will help if its rocking. You can buy a flexible grout which allows for slight movement or if you have a steady hand a thin bead of silicone but use masking tape along the grout line of the tiles. Hope this has helped.

I recommend replace the tile adhesive used mapey and adjust the washing machine set to the ideal level. Regards

Get a silicon sealant as close to the grout colour and use that instead

Hi. If you dont Fix The Tiles With adhesive, they Will crack Again. First Time you need to fix The Tiles and after That you need to to The grout.

tiling was done with inappropriate tile adhesive which is normally ready mix available in plastic tubs this tile adhesive does not have adhesion so tiles will fall off but little vibration etc.
you need to get this job done with recommended tile adhesive.

Did you choose a suitable adhesive? I am reluctant to recommend a particular grout here as new products continue to be developed. Instead I would suggest you research for available grouts on the internet and at the same time research on blogs, etc as to other people's actual experience of using grouts. This would take only a little time to do - just 5 minutes of searching could yield lots of useful info. If you need direct advise then please feel free to contact me - advise is normally free.

you would have to use a flexible addessive and grout this allows u for a movement and and will not crack all depends on how much movement

I always use a adhesive called tradeflex, this alows movment in the tiles and dekker grout wich is also waterproof and shouldn't ever crack.

You can get flexible water resistant grout, obviously these types are a little more expensive than you every day grout but obviously made for a reason 😉.
Also, I would suggest leaving a 2-3 mm gap from your work surface to the bottom of the first row of tiles.

Go ahead and grout inbetween the tiles, however, on the bottom of the tiles use silicone and not grout.
