Carry out a mist coat first, water-60% emulsion-40% and mix together

It is possible, use febond blue grit plaster bonding from wickes prior to plastering.
plasterboard tape
No, as its paper the water content in the plaster will soak into the paper tape and bubble up and in some cases come away from the plasterboard.
