If he changed box could be cooler as he has change to rcd or it could be connected on the wrong g side if it's a split box insulation resistance test will tell if circuit ok or pat test cooker to see if its faulty
Yes it's true and it's for your own safety these box now are design to trip within mili seconds as not to cause any harm
