I have bin plastering for over ten years started off doing rewires in house then gradually moved on to all types of work from hotels houses and shops.

You could use moisture boards also two coats of multi finish plaster would be perfect for you
A great solution to this is to buy blue grit and apply to the walls which will stick to basically anything and gives us a good key to plaster onto
