Tiling of kitchen walls and floor - Tiling job in Bristol

“Steve provided a very competitive price to tile our large kitchen/ dining room floor and counter top splash backs. His wisdom and advice was very much appreciated. The work was carried out in a very timely fashion with minimal disruption. A tidy and professional tradesman with outstanding results! We’ve since had our hallway floor completed and will be using again very soon for our bathroom! You will not be disappointed.”

Hi,
the normal approx thickness of adhesive is 3mm, even using a 10mm float at a 45degree angle you hold the float it will be approx 3mm, the thicker the adhesive the longer it will take to dry...you will possibly need to butter the back of the limestone tiles too as they are porous so you will need more adhesive than you thick.
regarding tiling the area i would always tile around your floor units, remove the kickboards and tile upto the legs of the units, cut down kickboards and then refit. pointless tiling under the units not only dont you see them but it cost you money and time laying tiles you dont see
hope that helps

They can do but you will get charged for their time to and from ikea and the carriage of the flat pack, so dont think you are saving on delivery charges

I assume when you say mortar you mean tile grout? you can just regrout your tiling, but if it cracked shortly after , either you used the wrong stuff or you have movement in the wall which is causing the grout to crack

Why use a plumber to tile, its like asking a taxi driver to fly a plane..........

with what you have said it sounds like the wall will be damaged behind the tiles, which means the whole wall will need to be removed and start again, using a professional tiler.
