About Us:
I’m a local family man who’s been in building trade since a teenager. I’ve had plenty of experience over the last 2 decades with plastering, painting & decorating. I’ve refitted most household rooms including kitchens, bathrooms and conservatories. Confident with extensions and ad hoc builds.

History:
I followed my Dad as he was a builder. Starting as a labourer in my teens and experiencing a variety of projects, I was able to try lots of different skills, tools and activities. I eventually set up on my own under GLM Improvements in 2016. Projects vary from rental refresh decorating, to ad hoc home DIY/repairs to two storey extensions. I’ve undertaken some of these completely solo and others I’ve worked with a team or used other local contacts for parts of work I personally am unable to complete (eg. Site surveys, electrical/gas checks). During the pandemic, I was still able to complete projects by adhering to the relevant social distance measures and was able to continue to help local homeowners make essential repairs safely.
Other:
Whilst I did complete college with a City & Guilds NVQ in Catering & Hospitality, I found learning environments challenging and have therefore spend my working life on the job rather than in a classroom. I would like to gain some qualification in the building trade someday however it’s a fine balance between taking time out to attend one of the few trade courses available as well as being a self employed tradesman. The evidence I can provide of my experience is via customer testimonials and photos/videos of projects.
