Isolate electrics if feel safe to do so or call a qualified electrician to do that and then fill the hole with expanding foam.
Get a eicr report completed to acquire whether the electrics meet the bs7671 regulations prior to upgrading the consumer unit.
May not require replacing if meets all standards of the bs7671 regulations. always check wether you have additional protection via rcd on all socket outlets.
