Electric shower installation

The wiring to the CU and pull cord switch is already wired. Im moving the electric shower to the room behind. Plumbing is done and all needs doing is wiring from the switch through the wall to the shower. Im not qualifed but competant in general electrics. Would I be breaking any laws or invalidate home insurance if I did this part if wiring?

Hi, you really do need to be qualified to do this correctly. There are Building Control Regulation issues and well as Health and Safety. The electrical work may cause other issues elsewhere in the installation that could (theoretically) even cause a fire. If you ever had an issue your Insurers would certainly not pay up and even selling your house may become an issue if you cannot provide a Minor Works Certificate for the work.
It's a quick job so fairly cheap to get someone to do it and certify it for you.
Good Luck

No your house your choice. If someone get electric shock and dies while having a shower then you liable. If it's go to court the judge will ask you for qualifications then throw the book at you. As long as your competent then your ok to go.

Short answer no, but as the area your wiring into is a special location, I would get a competent electrician to install it.

Your bathroom is a special location going by regulations. My best advice is hire a qualified electrician. But if you are confident enough to DIY then at the end ensure the job is certified by a third party. Thanks

Any work in a bathroom or kitchen should be carried out to Part P of the building regs and would require a building control certificate. There maybe something about the installation that you arent aware of that could cause problems, get an electrician to do it safely.

If you are not qualified you should not touch it. It can be very dangerous. You should get it done by qualified electrician and get certificate for it.
