I have a correctly fitted electric shower in a shower room downstairs. This is being moved to the room directly adjacent to it. Plumbing work is fine. The plan is to move the shower pull cord switch to the other room and therefore using the existing wiring that goes to the fuse box. To extend the wiring, does it have to be a qualified electrician?
In accordance with the regulations, to erect new wiring has the right to conduct a competent person or persons under their supervision. The competent person is an individual who possesses sufficient technical knowledge, relevant practical skills and experience for the nature of the electrical work undertaken.
Yes you should always get an electrician to do this kind of job
As for extending the wire this is a big no no as it can cause a problem and becomes a weak point in the cable
It's always better to do electrical work with a qualified electrician
Yes as it needs to signed off by a certified electrician
Yes it has to done to part P which has to be signed off by a registered electrician
Yes. Any work should be done by a qualified electrician. One of the most common causes of electrical fires is loose wires.
Is best if qualified electrician do safe connection fot 10mm cable.
I would definitely recommend that whoever does the job will need to know what they're doing due to hazards.
My ADVICE IS WHEN IT COMES TO SAFETY IS LET THE PROFESSIONALS DEAL WITH IT.
