Condensing gas boilers are the new modern and efficient way to provide heating and hot water to your home. The provide instant heat and hot water by cold water from the mains going through a heat exchanger in the boiler as and when you need it.

An open system relies more on you needing a cylinder tank usually located in an airing cupboard to store hot water to use when required.

The main difference between a combi boiler and other boilers (conventional / regular) is that a combi elimnates the need to store hot water in a cylinder. A combi boiler is able work both as a water heater and work as a central heating boiler.

As a combi system doesn't need a hot water tank, it usually results in a space saving compared to a conventional system.
