Cost of insulation beneath cold flooring?

We had wooden clip together flooring put in our corridor and downstairs room but it's very cold so we'd like to get insulation put in underneath. I've heard it's best to put this underneath the floor boards themselves. What kind of price would we be looking at removing flooring, removing floor boards, insulating, and replacing everything? Is this the best way to do it? It's an old victorian terrace.

It really depends on the size if the area.
At a guess based on an average size hall I would charge £320 labour cost. Based on one and a half days Labour.

Insulating underneath the floorboards is indeed a good way to improve the thermal insulation of your home, which will help keep your house warm and reduce your heating bills.

The cost of the job will depend on a few factors, such as the size of the area to be insulated, the type of insulation you choose, and the cost of labor in your area.

In terms of the process, the first step would be to remove the flooring, then lift up the floorboards to access the joists underneath. Insulation material can then be laid between the joists, and the floorboards can be replaced on top. Finally, the flooring can be reinstalled.

It's worth noting that if you have a suspended timber floor, which is common in Victorian terraced houses, there may already be some insulation between the joists. If this is the case, you may only need to add additional insulation to increase the thermal performance.

Overall, insulating under the floorboards is a good way to improve the energy efficiency of your home, and can help you save money on heating bills in the long run.

It’s kind of impossible really to give any kind of rough price in regards to the issue as everyone labour is different in regards to removing the flooring you have had laid and then the floor boards, to then apply the insulation underneath etc
But a cheaper option may be that
If the company that laid your flooring didn’t apply a underlay onto of your floor boards and under your flooring that would help massively and potentially be a lot cheaper option for yourself
Hope this helps

Depending on your budget it would differ on price exactly but as a rough estimate for a medium sized area you’d be looking at a cost of around £1328.65
