Recently a plumber replaced a cracked sink and pedestal in a bathroom( basic sink £200 job ) but left the old one behind should he have taken it and if not what extra cost should I pay for him to take it
Thanks
Rubbish removal is an additional cost as we are charged tipping and is free if you take to your local recycling site. A Plumber could charge up to £85 for removal from site
We charge £85 plus any materials required to fit your sink. Rubbish removal is an additional cost as we are charged tipping and is free if you take to your local recycling site. We would charge £25 to dispose of your old sink.
50£to take away the old sink
Normally the question should have been asked by the tradesman whether he was to remove the old sink from the property or if you were going to take care of the left over waste. There is some times a charge for removal as there is a charge for correct disposal.
If I had done the job, I wouldn’t charge but I would say 50£
I think he would only be obliged to take the rubbish it was agreed with you both. An old sink is free to dump at the local tip but chargeable if a trader uses a van
Hi the best way to define this is to fully explain in the job description of what the work will entail before the plumber starts the task, this way there can be control measures put in place for the job completion knowing of whom will dispose the rubbish of correctly.
Most trades don't usually take that type of rubbish away its probably easier for you to take it to the nearest tip
