Sustainable building in West and SW London

The use of Sustainable or green building construction aims to embody the principals of sustainable development in environmental protection, economic development, in the design, building, maintenance and occupation of buildings.

Green buildings are designed and constructed to the highest environmental standards to minimise energy requirements, help reduce water consumption, use materials which are of low environmental impact, reduce wastage, conserve the natural environment and safeguard human health and wellbeing.

The considerations for Sustainable Housing should include :-

Environment through conservation and enhancement of the site design. Energy by minimising energy consumption, adding of insulation, building design to maximise solar gains and shelter from winds and using energy efficient lighting and appliances, Water: consumption and water efficiency, recycling rainwater , water efficient appliances, water run-off to prevent flooding and pollution.

Transport: Location near to public transport routes, distances to amenities and places of work, thought to space for home working - e.g. home office to reduce commuting. Materials: use of life materials of low impact during extraction, manufacture and use, avoidance of toxic materials and those from non-sustainable sources, use of materials which can be recycled, use of locally produced materials to reduce transportation and use of recycled materials.

Health and well being to humans by use of non-toxic finishes and materials, best use of daylighting, freedom from noise, outdoor space, green space, design for community integration with the surroundings and the landscape.

Affordability: to help minimise the cost of ownership, flexibility and the adaptability to meet the changing needs of present and future owners and occupiers.

Sustainable building and being environmentally responsible is at the core of all work undertaken by Provilla in West London. They aim to provide resources that are efficient throughout a building's life-cycle, at the design, demolition, through construction, maintenance and renovation in South west London, this complements the classical building design concerns of practicality, economy, durability, and comfort for refurbishment in Notting hill and Hammersmith. Through use of latest technologies being developed to mirror current practices in creating greener and ‘Eco’ friendly structures by design and build in South west London, the objective is that sustainable building practices are designed to reduce the overall impact of building work on the surrounding population and the natural environment, during property extensions in Richmond and South west London, by making the most efficient use of energy, water, and other resources.

Provilla

Provilla may be working on ‘loft conversions Ealing’ or ‘loft conversions Chiswick’ however they still focus on utilising locally sourced natural and sustainable materials, which includes the disposing of waste materials in the best possible ways. Whether providing ‘Building services in Richmond or Ealing’ they will work on the aesthetic side of a project using sustainable design as their philosophy, even ‘general building Notting Hill’ will get the sustainable review to work in harmony with the natural features and resources surrounding the project. If the projects are conservatories in Richmond and Hammersmith the green buildings measures are applied to reduce energy consumption, both the employed energy required to extract, process, transport and install building materials to the project, even if it is ‘driveways Richmond’, ‘Landscaping Ealing’ or Gardening in Chiswick the operating energy to provide services such as heating and power for the equipment used.

We are approved and qualified installers offering solar panel installations including hot water systems and electricity generating systems .
Properly insulating your home will not only help reduce your heating and cooling costs but also make your home more comfortable.
Currently the government gets less than 10% of its electricity from renewable sources but its green target is set to increase to 30% by 2020. The good news is that this means that there will be more financial incentives for both domestic and business people to fit solar panels and wind turbines in order to achieve this target.
Feed-in-Tariffs (FIT)

This is an incentive scheme to reward anyone who can generate their own electricity through from renewable and low energy sources such as solar panels and wind turbines. This will enable many people to invest is small-scale low energy in return for a guaranteed payment from your choice of energy supplier for generating each unit of electricity. In addition to this you would get further payment for each unit of electricity you export back to the electricity grid. This feed-in-tariffs are guaranteed for a fixed period of time of up to 25years.
If you are interested in learning more about the feed-in-tariffs please contact us.

Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)

This scheme which rewards with cash backs to anyone who generate renewable heat encourages homeowners and businesses to source their heating from renewable and low carbon sources. This can be generated by:

*Solar Thermal Water Heaters
*Renewable Combined Heat and power
*Sustainable Biogas
*Biomass boilers and cooking stoves
*Air-source and ground Source Heat Pumps

The government has the target to increase from 1% to 12% by 2020 to generate heat from renewable sources. This is to help minimize the heating effect has on climate change.

“These guys did a fantastic job. My property has been featured on two BBC programs and I was under pressure to do a 'good' job. BBC had my flat valued by a specialist and based on the quality of the works done so far the value went up by 40k. They communicated promptly, came with very good suggestions and advice and finished the job in time. I would recommend this company to anyone. ”
