Starting off as a supervisor for a local housing association,managing the process and quality control of numerous residential renovations; Soraghan Flooring was established as a sole trader, evolving towards carpentry in 2013 ; and eventually finding a niche specialising in wooden flooring of all types . In all honesty the dip of 20mm is going to be a big undulation and cause issues with the planks bouncing. for the correct process , these tiles need to be taken up , all adhesive removed, cleaned , and then levelled with a latex self levelling compound. if youre doing the utility you may as well do the whole area to create a uniform level. this does require extra material and labour cost . however a floating laminate flooring can be layed over flat tiles given that the underlayment is inclusive of a damp proof membrane to stop any cold temperature moisture which can rise up through the tiles from the concrete base below, penetrating simple non protection underlay and affecting the quality of your laminate floor .
The process should be
ceramic tile removal
adhesive scrape and total removal
new base to be cleaned and primed
latex self levelling compound poured
depending on product used and or amount of depth poured, a
min of btween 6 to 8 hours to dry prior to flooring with the floor of your choice. however some real wood or glue down lvt priducts may require a humidity test prior to installation to be sure that moisture is at a minimum
