Freezing kit will allow you freeze pipes temporarily. freeze time will depend on pipe dimensions, pipe material and pressure in the pipe. works well with cold water pipes. not to be used with hot water pipes such as central heating. average working time after freeze is approximately 20min to 30min.
Question. what type of shower mixer did you buy? does it fit on the wall or build in? does it have 1 inlet and 1 outlet or 2 inlets and 2 outlets. what is the size of the pipe/s that meant to be connected to shower mixer? once i know this i can advise you exactly what to buy.

it is possible. to better assess the cost more info or photos would be advantage. cost will vary based on amount of work/time required. thinks to consider would be: type of the wall, how pipes would be rerouted (over the wall or inside the wall) and how waste can be connected.

1. stop (close) water on insulator valve if fitted next to cistern. if not fitted close main stop cock in the property.
2. open cold tap to release pressure from pipes. this way splash of water can be avoided.
3. undo (unscrew) normally female 1/2 connector on copper pipe.
4. remove the o ring (may be black or red) and buy appropriate o ring. standard size 1/2.
5. screw back copper female 1/2 to cistern.
6. oent stop cock to check
