Is there a time limit for rendering?

My neighbour has built an extension a few feet away. My view from my kitchen window is now an ugly brick wall. It was supposed to be rendered. This is now over 3 years and is still the same. Is there a time limit for rendering

No there no time limit as to when you can render a property the only problem could be Access in some cases but a wall can be rendered as long as the wall is good enough to render hope that as help regards Garth

The mortar must be left to cure for at least 7 days before been rendered.

There’s no reason the wall cannot be rendered 30 years down the line aslong as the wall is in good repair

Yes and no, rendering should be done straight away or at least 1 coat of render to water proof building as water can penetrate through existing walls, there is no actual time limit but it does depend on water penetration.

Due to weather can slow things down but check with building control as they have to sign the job off as completed job

No but if the brick work is damaged then it is best to use a skin like rendergrip this helps seal the surface and make a nice coat to apply render to also it's best not to render in cold weather as it takes a while to dry

Building regulations and planning permissions vary, and there might not be a specific time limit for rendering mentioned in those regulations. However, you may want to check with your local planning or building department to see if there are any conditions or agreements related to the appearance of the extension.

If there's a significant deviation from what was approved in the planning permission, you may have grounds to bring it to the attention of the local authorities. It's advisable to consult with them to understand your rights and options in this situation.
