I am a Bricklayer by Trade, but we cover all aspects of construction. We have trusted subcontractors who we use on a regular basis and we cover all of north Wales and Cheshire.

I’d only use expanding foam to fill the gap around the frame once it’s been secured in by the fixings screws. the excess is trimmed off and either a plastic trim is used or pointed up.
Personally, i would of waited for the temperature to rise and use a concrete firm who have a barrowing service to save having all that material and mess on my driveway.
I’d personally approach the council and seek permission for the project. within the application i’d ask for the the kerbs to be dropped and use an approved contractor for this. the work also need a structural engineer to design walls if needed. the work is quite straightforward and would have to be costed correctly.
