I would suggest joining onto the existing footing by adding more concrete drilling into the existing footing to add steel to help the bond from new to old
You can replace the lid or build up reset it parallel to the home
Yes it would work fine i don’t know all the ins and outs of a boiler i’m not gunna sit here and lie about it i know that it needs two feeds for those types of showers as hot and cold which combi boilers produce i know how to do the work from inside a bathroom don’t go near boilers as i’m not gas certified
Fill a bucket with hot water this will help breakdown any grease or help move any other unwanted nastys you can add a little bleach to or dish soap to help if it’s badly built up with crap
It’s down to how much you want doing and how much your willing to spend because it’s water damage you would have to treat it which means replace or it will go mouldy and cause worse problems at a later date you would probably be best ripping it out and replacing with what’s there already so you would only need to purchase a roll of felt and chipboard and depending on what the lead flashing looks like possibly replacing that if can’t be re joined
