It would be advisable but not essential.
Including fitting it would be £80 with labour
Sounds like the oven is on an incorrect size mcb
Something is very wrong here as the shower should be on a separate circuit!
You do not have to upgrade if you are just changing the sockets! but if you did upgrade the consumer unit then yes metal and rcd/rcbo is now the current advice.
