Hi there

I am looking at renovating my house in E14.

Firstly, I have some plasterboard replacement projects that I would like to get off the ground, and was wondering if you could provide a quote:

1) I need to replace the ceiling on my living room. It is circa 4.60m by 5.40m (15 feet by 17 feet 8 inches). Photo attached. I would like the ceiling modernised (maybe spotlights?) as I am looking to sell the house,

2) I would like to increase the size of one of the bedrooms.

Basically, HMO licencing requires that the minimum square footage for a bedroom must be 6.5 m2, but one of the rooms has a shortfall of less than 0.2 m2.

The current dimensions of the room are as follows:
Length: 2.10 m
Width: 3.01 m
Total: 6.32 m2

My question is, is there perhaps a way to increase the size of the room by. 0.2 m2?

The insulation in the room is currently from the 80’s. I checked online and there appear to be fancy new types of insulation that take up less space, this means that the plasterboard can be closer to the wall, allowing the room to be larger.

If we could push the plasterboard closer to the wall by around 2 cm along the length of the room (1cm on each side) and 5 cm into the width (2.5 cm on each side?) , it would work.

Here is a calculator that could help: https://www.inchcalculator.com/square-meters-calculator/

Let me know what you think and if you are able to provide a guesstimate online. If we are in the same ballpark, I can arrange for you to go to the house for a proper quote.

The house is located in E14 9UN.

Thank you
Naidu

I too was conned by this company after I was convinced to transfer a deposit into their account via online bank transfer. However, I phoned my bank (Fraud dept) and they issued me a refund on the spot. They said they would take it up with the counterpart bank. I would urge anyone who has likewise been conned to contact their bank and alert them to this companies fraudulant activities. The more complaints are received, the easier it will be for the police to prosecute.
