Is it okay to ask plumber to revise toilet pipe placement?
Hello,
Im looking for advice about my toilet that’s going to be installed.
I’m having an extension and the toilet cistern pipe has been placed at the left hand side of the waste. The toilet I’m going to have plumbed in has a right side inlet. The pipe work is in its early stage but a sheet of floor has been laid next to it already. I understand that a flexible connection can be used but with a brand new bathroom, I’d ideally like to not see additional pipes. I’m nervous to ask the plumber to amend before the job proceeds more. I’d ideally to get it right in the at this early build stage. Is it acceptable to ask the plumber to revise or will they be upset and say to just use a flexi pipe? Help from a widowed renovator!
Yes, it is ok to move the water inlet fill valve to either side of the pre drilled holes on both sides of your toilet cistern, so long you install a blank plug on the other end.
It is most definitely acceptable for you to ask the plumber to change this.
As the client you have employed the plumber to undertake your project and provide you with a service that meets your expectations on every level.
You, your project and the desired finish should be the most important aspect of the plumbers job. They are there to meet your expectations and provide a service that they and you are proud to offer and you deserve.
As you have mentioned the work is in early stages so this wouldn't be an issue for any honest, reliable and professional tradesman to undertake.
