How much it will cost to build a plasterboard wall in open plan living area. Need to install a door as well in the same wall.
First of all, you should know how many square meters the area is, what kind of door you need, is there a shortage of plasterboard for plastering and painting, or do you only need to build the wall? I can accept the construction of the wall for £650, the price does not include materials,,
The cost will depend on size of the wall and things like is insulation needed, the finish of the wall, new frame & door installation etc
with all materials it will cost around £700.00
The cost to build a plasterboard wall can vary based on several factors, including the size of the wall, the type of plasterboard used, and labor costs in your area. Here's a general breakdown:
1. Materials:
- Plasterboard sheets typically cost between £5 to £10 each. For a standard wall, you might need around 4-6 sheets, depending on the size, which could total around £20 to £60.
- You'll also need screws, joint tape, and joint compound, which can add another £20 to £30.
2. Labor:
- If you hire a professional, labor costs can range from £150 to £300 for a simple wall installation, depending on your location and the complexity of the job.
3. Door Installation:
- Installing a door can add additional costs, typically around £100 to £300 for the door itself, plus labor costs of £50 to £100 for installation.
Overall, you might be looking at a total cost of approximately £300 to £800 for the entire project, depending on the specifics. It’s always a good idea to get quotes from local contractors for a more accurate estimate.
Need measurements to be able to work costs out.
Without being able to see the job in question I would not give a quote with no mention of measurements how do you estimate it but in the region of 25 pounds a mtr and the cost of doors and a good carpenter to hang them the right tool for the job always helps.
The cost of the work needed would depend on the area of the wall .
Also would have to take in to consideration any electrical work that might be required.
The best way forward would for me to arrange to visit the property and have a chat about the best way forward and give any advice needed.
Then I would be able to give a price that is fair to both me and yourself
