IS: 9163-1972 guidelines

What does an Abrasion Test Result of 0.7 mm Average wear under IS: 9163-1972 guidelines tell me about how long a floor tile will last on a Kitchen Floor. The tiles are flexable with a 0.40 mm stone surface layer.

Ask where you got tiles from or manufacturers but I would assume that it is suitable for purpose that you require

Again these abrasions test are completed in laboratory conditions !!!!so obviously it all depends on footfall on each situation but I always work on the assumption if 0.40 stone surface layer which is normally described as the wear layer !! They should last a minimum of seven years on a day to day basis in a domestic household subject to proper maintenance and cleaning regimes door mats at external doorways etc hope that helps your enquiry kind regards David
