About Us:

We are based in the Plymouth and Tamar valley area, we do however cover a much larger area. Carrying out works through out Devon and Cornwall and into Exeter.

Any customers should be aware of the following, this is order to clarify any confusion for customers an estimate is not a fair assumption of price only a guess.

We will provide a fully detailed quotation outlining exactly what work is being carried out and where, plus materials to be used. We will not do estimates so your bill will be exactly what is quoted.

Like wise we will no longer undertake extras until all other works quoted for are completed and paid for. All extras will be quoted for and detailed in a written quotation.

Payments up front or deposits generally we don't not take these unless in certain circumstances eg double glazing products and non standard products.

We will be asking for references as opposed to ratings, this is in response to customer request.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Established in 1996 we offer a complete building and Maintenance service for customers through out Devon and Cornwall.

We specialise in the construction of bespoke gates, cabins and decking projects. Our building side tends to take on the less glamouress jobs first fix that people tend to find struggle finding a builder for.

For landlords we offer a bespoke one stop service tailored to your, requirements be they student lets or holiday cottages. We will keep you informed through out any works by digital photos and emails .

Kitchen (Flooring)

“Ended up as 4 little jobs. Wood Laminate would not lay. Wicks fault as only 6mm thick. I checked and they do not carry 6mm Laminate? Returned a week later. Fitted the Laminate in both Kitchen and Hallway. He asked for balance of money? I told him I will when he does the other 2 little jobs included in quote. Fitting kicking boards I had after laminate? And a panel top secured in the bathroom. I now cannot find my 3 step set of steps or get a reply????”
remove mirror (Handyman)

“First class job, would recommend David anytime.”
Fixing leaking garden shed (Garages & Sheds)

“David undertook to re-felt my leaking garden shed and arrived bright and early on the following day, which luckily was dry. Very nice two-man team who did the job efficiently and for a very fair price and I'm very happy with the result. I would have no hesitation in hiring David again. ”
Removal of two concrete paths and some patio work (Gardening & Landscaping)

“David was excellent, did the job on the agreed date and did a really through job of smashing out some paths and patio work, would happily use them again, Jon”
Replace backgate (Fencing)

“Excellent workmanship. Good value. Used good materials. Undertook the work & hardly stopped for breaks. Polite and courteous. Genuinely nice guys, with a good sense of humour & integrity. Highly recommended. ”
demolition/clearance of raised deck/timber steps (Demolition & Clearing)

“Very happy to recommend David who was able to come at short notice due to a cancellation to remove raised deck area, slab stones, concrete base below and a soil bed. He also removed a further raised deck, perspex balustrading and wooden handrails & two sets of timber steps. David was present on site at 8am each morning and even came in over the weekend to complete snagging. Would only accept payment when I was totally satisfied with the job. Cheerful and helpful. Will ask him to quote next job!”
small brick repair, under sink leak and door handle (Handyman)

“Really good to deal with. Trustworthy and fair pricing. I have used them several times and will continue to.”
Bathroom Dorma window; tiles loose. (Roofing)

“This builder consulted with me professionally and completed the work quickly and thoroughly. Looks like a job well done to me.”
repair and paint a woodend boathouse (Joinery & Carpentry)

“Would suggest you need a VG rating. I would rate his work as VG.I live some distance from our holiday home therefore needed someone to do the work 'long distance' which I could not oversee. Shire quoted promptly, did the work on time and to the quote. I was impressed with the quality of the finished work -which included not just renovation and repainting of my very old wooden boathouse but also the construction and fitting of new doors. The quality of workmanship for the doors is impressive. ”
Repair and renovate/repaint an old boathouse (Garages & Sheds)

“My boathouse is 80+ years old and is wooden. It needed old overlap planking replaced and a pair of new doors. Shire quoted promptly, did the work on time and to a good standard. As I was not around to oversee the work I needed to rely on someone from long distance for the outcome. That can be risky. But it went well. Unlike some builders there were no surprise extras !”
Break up concrete (Demolition & Clearing)

“Arrived at agreed time and did an excellent job. Highly recommended”

There are many trades which do roof felt on sheds, i would try a general builder, landscaper first then a roofer. however for a habitable building or room then i would use a roofer first or a carpenter or builder who does roofing.
